Upcycled Aloe Plant Hand Sewing Craft Kit

£15.00

This craft kit contains everything you need (except scissors) to hand sew your own upcycled aloe houseplant.

Included in this kit:

  • pre-cut fabric pieces

  • booklet with step-by step illustrated instructions

  • sewing clips

  • fabric scraps (for stuffing)

  • thread

  • hand sewing needle

  • pipe cleaner pieces

  • seam allowance guide

This is a beginner-friendly project.

The finished faux houseplant is approximately 10cm tall.

All fabric pieces are upcycled, so colours and fabrics may vary slightly depending on what I have available, but I will try to keep them as close as possible to those photographed.

Each kit is made-to-order, so please allow 3-5 days for me to make your kit.

Use discount code SOCIAL for 10% off when you order 3 or more sewing kits.

Please note that this kit is not a toy. The finished item is for decoration only and is not intended for children.

This sewing kit reduces textile waste!

The leaf pieces and topsoil piece are cut from pre-loved hoodies and sweatshirts.

The plant pot pieces are cut from a vintage curtain, and the base soil piece (which won’t be seen once the plant is finished) is from a duvet cover. The fabric scraps are a mix of fabric pieces that are unusable as fabric but still perfectly good for stuffing.

More sustainability info

The sewing clips, thread, and pipe cleaner pieces are pre-owned but unused, making them as good as new without the negative impacts of producing new materials.

The needles are brand new, sourced from a UK company, and will be able to be reused again and again.

The instructions are printed onto 100% recycled post-consumer waste paper and hand stitched together using pre-owned cotton embroidery thread which can easily be removed (and reused) so that the paper can be recycled.

The box is minimum 70% recycled. All other paper or cardboard inside the kit is either reused or 100% recycled.

All packaging is plastic-free.

Inside each kit is a small paper sachet of betonite clay. This is a plastic-free and naturally biodegradable alternative to silica gel. It is used to protect the material against moisture. If you wish, you can add it to the base of your plant.
